Ephemera of Elsewhere

Ephemera of Elsewhere is a series of small paintings based on childhood memories of growing up in 1990s Beijing, a city caught between tradition and transformation. Each work captures a fleeting moment filtered through time and emotion reflecting the textures of everyday life in a city on the edge of change. These works are not documents but emotional residues, ephemera of a place that no longer exists if it ever did. Seen from the distance of time and geography, Elsewhere becomes both a real city and an imagined one, shaped by nostalgia, distortion, and longing.
