What Holds, Restrains
What Holds, Restrains engages with the conditions that shape care, labor, and the possibility of creation.
Yarn carries a double meaning. It reflects domestic labor as a structure that can confine, binding time, energy, and attention, while also functioning as a space of expression through which creativity persists. Long associated with care work and historically dismissed as craft, textile practices have often been excluded from the discourse of fine art, despite the histories and forms of knowledge they embody. Within this tension, the work addresses care not only as an intimate act, but as a social and political condition, asking who gets to create, and under what circumstances.
